Syd Alexander is pleased to announce his retirement from the practice of law and from this law firm as of July 15, 2020.
A founding partner of Alexander Miller Schupp & Hamilton and A Chapel Hill native, Syd is also a double Tar Heel. He earned his Bachelors in American Studies in 1971 and his law degree in 1975, both from UNC-Chapel Hill. Syd opened this firm the year he graduated from law school and has actively served the Chapel Hill community ever since.
Syd’s commitment to community is clear by his involvement with many community organizations. He has served on numerous boards including Habitat for Humanity, Carolina Center for Public Service, Farmer FoodShare, and South Orange Rescue Squad. He served on the Board of Directors of The Strowd Roses Foundation for 17 years which he helped found.
Syd and his wife Laurie raised three children in Chapel Hill and are delighted to now enjoy their seven grandchildren, many of whom live in Chapel Hill as well.
